About Us

Start Your Engine is a comprehensive health and fitness education program for women who want to attain a healthy lifestyle. The mission of the program is to prevent obesity by motivating women to achieve a healthy lifestyle through education and practice in time and stress management, nutrition, and fitness.

Start Your Engine Team

Anastasia Holmes, Founder, has worked in the nonprofit sector for 15 years. She completed her MPA at Columbia University in May 2006.  In addition to her nonprofit management experience, Anastasia brings her personal passion for healthy living to Start Your Engine.

Sharone Huey is an ACE-certified personal trainer (American Council on Exercise). Originally from Jamaica, Sharone is a graduate of Brooklyn College and is currently a physiologist at The Sports Center at Chelsea Piers and a trainer at New York Sports Club.

Sarah Wolf is a registered dietician and works for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in their Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control. She received her Master of Public Health in Human Nutrition at the University of Michigan and has devoted her efforts to community-based programs.

Jan Wyche is a certified personal trainer and has worked at the Sports Center at Chelsea Piers for more than 10 years.

Start Your Engine is a member of the Greater Brooklyn Health Coalition.
